The mindset · How we operate

Talent is common.
Standards are rare.

Five books shape how we think. Read them — but more importantly, run them. These are the operating principles we hold each other to.

10X
The 10X Rule
Grant Cardone · Book 01
Set targets so big they force a different level of thinking — then back them with massive action.
  • ✦
Set a goal that forces a different level of thinking.
  • ✦
Match goals with action — always at the 10× scale.
  • ✦
Assume you're underestimating the work required.
  • ✦
Commit before every detail is known.
  • ✦
Use fear as a signal to act, not to freeze.
  • ✦
Avoid average activity. Average is a failing formula.
  • ✦
Increase your visibility — be known for your work.
  • ✦
    Massive action beats occasional motivation.
02
Atomic Habits
James Clear · Book 02
You don't rise to your goals; you fall to your systems. Build the system, and results compound.
  • ✦
Never miss twice. One slip is an accident; two starts a pattern.
  • ✦
Make the first step easy — shrink it until it's unavoidable.
  • ✦
    Small habits compound over time.
  • ✦
Focus on systems, not only goals.
  • ✦
The loop: cue → craving → response → reward.
  • ✦
Use habit stacking — anchor the new to the existing.
  • ✦
Design your environment so the right thing is the easy thing.
03
Hyperfocus
Chris Bailey · Book 03
Attention is the scarce resource. Point all of it at one thing that matters.
  • ✦
Attention is your most valuable productivity resource — spend it deliberately.
  • ✦
Productivity means accomplishing what you intended — not just being busy.
  • ✦
Hyperfocus = one important object of attention at a time.
  • ✦
Manage internal distractions too — the wandering mind, not just the phone.
  • ✦
Don't multitask during complex work. Deep work is single-threaded.
04
Think and Grow Rich
Napoleon Hill · Book 04
Definiteness of purpose, burning desire, and a plan you refuse to abandon.
  • ✦
    Have a definite purpose.
  • ✦
Develop a strong desire — the emotional fuel behind it.
  • ✦
Set a deadline. A goal without a date is a wish.
  • ✦
Start before you feel fully ready.
  • ✦
    Persist through setbacks.
  • ✦
Build a mastermind group — think in good company.
  • ✦
    Keep ethics and value central.
05
The 5 AM Club
Robin Sharma · Book 05
Own your morning, and you own your day. Win the first hour before the world wakes.
  • ✦
Own your first hour — before messages, meetings, notifications.
  • ✦
Use the 20/20/20 formula — move, reflect, grow.
  • ✦
Build the routine gradually — a 66-day habit installation.
  • ✦
    Protect distraction-free time.
  • ✦
Prioritise your most important work first.
  • ✦
    Build mastery through daily study.
Tech, research & creativity · Week One

Before you write code,
understand the field.

Great engineers are researchers first. Your first assignment isn't a ticket — it's context. Come back with answers.

01
The 10 hardest problems
Research the top 10 problems in your domain worth solving.
02
The people & the giants
Research the top 10 companies and individuals shaping your domain.
03
The last 6 months
Map the most important updates and shifts in your field, recently.
04
The reading list
Choose the books that will make you dangerous in your field.
The daily habits · How the best here operate

Train every day.
Own every outcome.

Four habits we hold each other to from day one. They're small, they're daily, and they compound.

01
Role-play before you reply
Ten minutes a day practising client conversations with a teammate. Skills go rusty in hours; confidence comes from reps, not theory.
02
Keep an objections notebook
Every objection, question or "no" a client gives you goes in, with the answer that worked. Review it weekly. You'll never be caught without something to say.
03
No excuses, only next steps
"If it is to be, it is up to me." Say what you can do, never what you can't. When something slips, own it and bring the fix.
04
Follow up, every day
Start the day with three questions: who am I replying to, who am I waiting on, and who are the five people I should contact today? Deals are won on the fifth to twelfth touch, not the first.
Your move

Now build your
learning path.

First 30 days
Turn your research into a plan. Pick one skill to go deep on, and ship something small.
Next 60 days
Compound daily study into visible output. Contribute, review, and raise the bar.
By day 90
Own a slice of a real product. Be the person the team asks for your domain.
Welcome to Sengar.
Now go 10X.
